Why would you be blasted? Sound like you just asked a question...... Now as for question the widgets you use would effect the devices power use than the launcher so I would guess both may be close to the same

I don't have experience with Blur specifically, but having used Sense and non-Sense on my Eris, Sense (HTC's UI skin) uses a lot more battery than pure Android. So I would imagine Blur uses more battery however, as Wildman said, this will vary also based on how many widgets you have and how much stuff you have syncing in the background. Also, you may not see as many benefits by just replacing the home launcher. The best way to tell would be to do your own semi-quantitative test, running a day or so using each, and see which gets better battery life for you.

Well despite looking up what BLUR is I am still unsure what it is? Is it part of user interface?
The phone functions fine as far as general attributes and function of screens.
