Bought ringtone from Verizon website, can't install it on Droid Bionic from the attachment

I just bought a Droid Bionic a few days ago.  Bought a ringtone today from the Verizon website.  They sent me a text message with an attachment which is the audio file.  I click and hold the attachment icon and select "Save audio" and then it gives me an error message: "Error saving attachment".  No further details are provided about what the error is.

1. Go to Text Messages view, threader veiw that shows the music note pic when its not opened.

2. Press and hold on Pic

3. Select Save from the list

4. Now the ringer should be saved in SD/Messages folder

5. Then you can copy file to SD Card/Media/Audio/Ringtones and you can then access the ringers through the stock menu.

@Wildman - if I go to the Text Messaging app I can see a list of messages, including the one with the attached ringtone - but there is no "music note pic" and I don't have the option to save from there.  There is an icon next to the message in the list with a silhouette of a person.  If I press and hold that picture I get a dialog asking if I want to add "0000000000" to contacts.  Maybe you are using a different text message app?

Yes, that's the problem I described in the initial post... I press the message and then the attachment. When I hold the image I see the menu to "Play audio" or "Save audio."  Playing the audio works fine.  When I select "Save audio" an error message comes up: "Error saving attachment."

No details are given... locked SD card?  Missing folder?  Can't tell why it won't save the attachment.

Thanks to the Community for all the feedback and suggestions!

maltodextrin, this is something has actually been reported and lifted up to our Product Support Team and is currently under investigation.  I would like to suggest purchasing and downloading the ringtone from the VCast Tones application as a work around until this issue is resolved.  I am including a link with instructions and screen shots for the steps below:

Purchase Ringtones / Ringback Tones - V CAST Music - DROID BIONIC by Motorola

Please let me know how this works out for you!

Hello Anthony,

Unfortunately VCast Tones hasn't worked for me yet... I consistently get this message:

"Services are temporarily unavailable.  Please try again later or call customer care for assistance.  Error Code --1 "

Been trying since I got the phone, but have never been able to get through.
