How can I get the calendar events on my Droid X to notify me by vibrating 15 minutes before the event takes place?

I think this will depend on which Calendar APP you use. By default, NOTIFICATIONS are set under the "SOUND SETTINGS" - and there is a selectable Notification Ringtone, but no "vibrate". You MIGHT be able to set VIBRATE ON for EVERYTHING in the Sound Settings .. not sure how that would work with a Notification Ringtone though. If you ONLY want a vibrate 15 mins. (or whatever) before an event, you may have to find a 3rd party app. Good luck.

I tried to set vibrate for everything, and this does not work for calendar notifications. Hopefully, someone has another solution , as I have missed some meetings working at my desk since I just started using my calendar on my Droid for all appts.

So you have (or want) all sounds turned off when at your desk? Reason I say that is that you can play a notification sound 15 mins. before an event is due.. Works perfectly on mine. You just click on the event in the calendar and edit it to set the notification.

Yes, I am often meeting with clients, and don't want any sounds to notify me for calendar events, but only want a vibration to alert me to bring the meeting to an end.

Here's one of many free apps that might work for you:

As it stands, unless you find an apps that could help, the only way is to hold the power button until the pop-up menu comes on, and put it for silent mode, then go to settings>sounds>vibrate and set that for only in silent mode. Of course, this mean that you will not be getting ringtones when someone calls, but it will vibrate. I have no idea if there is an apps that could help you or not. without doing the everything silent bit.

I believe I found an answer to your request.
This works for the native calendar app on the DX.
Open the calendar.
Press the menu button.
Select "more"
Select "settings"
Under "select ringtone" choose the "silent" option. Back out to settings menu.
Under "vibrate" select "always".
This should give you the solution you're looking for.
Good luck!
