I just got a droid 2 (my BB curve finally died). I know there is a learning curve with new phones but I have figured out most of the phone features and how they work, etc. Except the calendar. I have read the user manual, searched these forums, to no avail. I did download OTHER calendars but they don't work either.
I cannot seem to add events to the calendar that came on the droid2. When I do, it says 'There are no calendar events currently synced. You can set up a calendar to sync in Accounts."
I cannot seem to figure out how to do this. I have tried all angles using the menu button, etc. It says I have to sync my calendar with an email. I do not HAVE a gmail account. I do not want one nor do i have a use for another email either. I use my school email and my home email which are both ISP-based. I don't see why I have to use an email address to use a calendar.
I tried using other calendar apps, but so far none of them do what I need them to do.
So far I am not finding the droid very easy to use. If this is Google/Motorola's answer to the iPhone, they aren't doing a good job.

I am trying to put an event on my calendar that repeats every other week. Can't seem to do it. I just got my Droid 2 and it has not become my friend yet.

If you are using the gmail account to sync the calendar, you need to log onto the gmail account from a computer. Select the calendar link. add the event on that view. There are more repeating event options through that avenue.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I am on my FOURTH Droid "smart" phone (more accurate would be dumb paperweight) and every couple of weeks it looses ALL of my calander information, contacts, e-mails, texts, etc. When I talk to tech no-service, they tell me I must be doing something to cause this problem but NEVER have any idea what I am doing to cause this problem. Then I have to do a master re-set. This removes EVERYTHING I had put on the device so I get to spend a couple hours re-building it the way I want it.
I could not be less satisfied with this useless paperweight.
Any ideas what "I am doing" to cause this?

I have provided some information below that may be helpful.

Being on my first Android device (picked up the Droid 2 in August) and having never experienced that problem, I am inclined to agree that it is user error.
