Call quality on the Droid

I am thinking of upgrading my Storm 2 to either the Droid X or the Droid 2 Global.  Can some folks give me some input on the incoming call quality of either of these two?

I can only say that I've never had an issue with call quality or cell signal quality since I've had my Droid X.  My wife has the Droid 2 (not global) and likewise hasn't had any issues.

Mine has been very good..  That's not to say that there aren't times when signal strength on EITHER end of the discussion might be less than 100% - which causes some trouble communicating ... e.g., the old "walkie talkie" issue of talking over each other.

But I can tell you I've NEVER had a dropped call on this phone.

I have both the Droid X and the R2D2 version of the Droid 2. Both have excellant call quality, both incoming and outgoing. If you are deciding on one or the other, if you like to view videos on your cell, choose the Droid X because of the larger screen. If you travel a lot to foreign countries, the Droid 2 Global is the one to pick. Truthfully, there isn't much difference between the two except for the larger screen on one and the global capacity on the other. I really enjoy both my Droids.

I have the Droid X, my wife has the Droid 2 Global, and both have excellent call quality. My X actually has better signal strength inside my house where all other phones barely could get 3g (and only in a few small sports) my X barely goes out of 3g.

I like the larger screen of the X, my wife likes the slider keyboard of the global.

You can't go wrong with either.

As a former BB Storm user, I can tell you that the call quality on the Droid X is louder and clearer than the Storm.   Occasionally, I do have the "walkie-talkie" effect that Cody described.  When that happens I just have to try to remember to pace the conversation so as not to talk 'over' the caller.  Strangely enough, I don't use the actual phone on the Droid X as much...I guess because the texting and everything else is so much better than it was on the Storm.  (Or maybe people just don't want to call me anymore...sigh.  LOL)

Can't offier any advice on the Droid 2, but in general, I have never had a serious problem with call quality since I've been with Verizon.

Droid X here and never had a dropped call. In fact, I've been with Verizon since 2000 and don't recall ever having a dropped call. My company phone on another carrier drops a call just about every day. Makes one wonder how the X would do on AT&T, but that's apples and oranges.

Try dialing ##7764726, "Secret Menu", initiate it as regular call. You'll come to a screen prompting a " Code". Put in 6 - 0's; 000000. Press Verify. Go down to 04 Vocoder and change EVRC to EVRC-B. Press Apply and back out of the menu because it's going to recycle automatically. When it's back on, you can call your V/M or someone to see if it made the improvement by listening to them and asking them how you sound. "Can you hear me now? ". Oh, never mind that part. IF it's not any better, which it should be, just reverse the process. But everyone I know has seen a difference.
