Can I activate another Droid Mini with my SIM card?

I have a Droid Mini with a failed loudspeaker. A friend also has one he is no longer using. Can I simply swap the sim card and be up-and-talking that easily ?

yes if you replace with the same phone....not all sim cads are the same size.
