Can not get gingerbread update

So Why can't I get the Gingerbread update for the droid X. When I check for software updates from the phone it indicated that check for update is not available try again later. When I call Verizon Tech support all I get is we will push the update out to you when we are good and ready, just wait! There does not appear to be anything I can do to get the update. This is rather frustrating.

Some have reported this as an issue:

 

Go to settings>Data Manager>Social Network Connection

 

...     and make sure it is NOT set for sync only over Wifi.

This is becoming a regular issue and it is usually because of changes made to device .

A number of users have had to unistall apps because there has been apps causing this issue.. There's one more item of users installing unauthorized software to device to restrict the update to be received... I suggest you backup and hard reset and the site try to update. This has worked for others.
