Sorry if this has been resolved but I didn't find anything in searches. I just got the Charge today and when I tried to download an application, it kept giving me "download unsuccessful"...no matter what app I try. I've googled this and have not come up with a solution for my phone. I've already cleared the market cache and data, restarted the phone, popped out and re-inserted the SD card. Has anyone else had a problem with this? How can I resolve this?
Honestly, I think if this continues for the next few days I WILL be returning the Charge for a 3G phone. I'm afraid this app issue is just the beginning of problems many other Charge owners are having.

If that doesn't work and if it is not too inconvenient, I would take it back to the store you bought it from and have tech support try to analyze the problem. You are well within the 14-day return period, so you can get another Charge for free or another phone for a $35.00 (I think) restocking fee, if you bought at VZW.
I hope things work out.

yes, it's up to date. It updated at the Verizon store when I bought it. When I first entered Android Market, it installed an update for that (and I can't uninstall this update like other results suggested). I'm really exasperated.

Usually when it's unsucessful it'll usually tell you why it is. Try watching it again and wait and see what it says.
Have you tried to clear market data? Usually this tends to fix MOST "unsucessful" messages, and they'll never return.
Edit: I have seen you already have....
Have you tried a factory reset? What apps do you have installed(aside from the preinstalled ones)?

A tier 2 tech and I figured this one out on the thunderbolt and because of what it was I'll pass it along to you.
First of all, if you go to settings>applications>manage applications,,, does it stay on computing? If so then this would most likely fix it.
First of back up everything (pictures, videos ) on your SD card
then remove your SD card and reinsert it and reboot(you may have to do this a few times) until it no longer says computing.... And actually give you the info.
When you have this go to your SD card in settings and unmount it, then format it.
you should be good after that, I went through phones and sim cards trying to figure this out and it was the SD card all along.
Let me know if this helps.

thanks for all the great suggestions, guys! A hard reset did the trick, but I'm glad I went through trying everthing else out too so if it comes up again I'll troubleshoot it faster.
