Can't turn power off while plugged in???

My Motorola DROID will not power down when I have it plugged in? I push and hold down the button and then screen shows three options one of which is power off. So, I select that and then the phone says "powering off", next thing I know it is turning on again. If it is off and I plug it in to charge it turns on. . . . . HELP. Any tips?

Same here....I think they are going to fix that on the update.  Not sure though, lol
