Can you extend your contract to get discounted price on Droid?

If i am currently in a two year contract can i extend it two more years and get the discounted price?

you can upgrade to a new phone, IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE, on the 20th month of your 24 month contract. (its 10th month of a one year contract).  check if you are eligible by going into your Verizon account and find the link to "upgrade to a new phone", it will tell you.

 

depending on what discount you have (could be $50 or $100) that discount is deducted from the $299.99 price tag. however, you also get $100 mail in rebate. so you could be looking to get the Droid for $99 or $149.

 

i have also heard that you could upgrade earlier than the 20th month but you lose out on the NE2 discount and would have to pay an extra $20. but you could get the phone as early as dec. 22, 2009.

 

i say call customer service, verify if you get the 50 or 100 dollar discount so you know for sure. but look to upgrade the regular way by late january at the earliest.
