I have easily synced our office Microsoft Exchange server to several iPhones and Droid 2 smartphones.
Now I have a Verizon Samsung Charge Droid and no variantions of server name, domin or login details work as they do for other snartphones to set up a corp account on the Charge. It says that it cannot connect or that the login authentication failed even with crendtials that work via OWA and which I confirmed in the Exchange Server Console.
Is there something different with the 4G Charge? Some addtional software needed to install an OWA connection? Our server setup is very plain vanilla and a variety of Verizon smartphones access Outllook email, calendar and contacts with no problem so it is not a security or config issue with our server.
I am aware of an almost identical similar problem with a similar small firm in Michigan trying to connect the Charge so is this something that Verizon should have warned us about before selecting the Charge?
Anybody else had this problem?

I have a similar problem. I cannot connect through the native email cleint. I downloaded Touchdown for Android and it worked fine. I really want to use the native mail client. If you find a resolution, please post it.

Did you ever get an answer on this or figure it out yourself?
I am having the exact same problem. I've set-up my corp email on many phones in the past and I've entered the info correctly for the charge but I keep getting a "Cannot find Server" message.
If I can't get my corp email - this phone is going back - as that I use the phone primarily for business.
If anyone has any ideas or guidance it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Same thing here, I cannot connect any active sync email to this device. I can connect to other devices, but not to this one... The gmail works just fine. I re-set the phone to factory settings twice, I receided the battery, the memory, I tried to get Verizon to help but they put me on hold with samsung and after 30 minutes they just told me to order a new phone. Not sure if this is a hardware problem though.

Here's an update:
I was on the phone with tech support last night for about 30 minutes. Tried everything - nothing worked. He was a nice guy but he simply ran out of ideas and things to try.
Then saw a few posts on some other forums saying that the mail app Touchdown almost always works and to give it a try as they have a 30 day free trial.
Installed, put the EXACT SAME INFO in and Touchdown sync'd immediately and I was up and running with email, calendar, contacts, etc. Bottom line - the stock app is screwed somehow and is unable to connect for me. It may be because my company is running exchange server 2010 and it authenticates a little differently.
Not sure if the long awaited Gingerbread update will fix this, but as I just got the phone yesterday, I'm going to tell Verizon that they either need to fix this or pick up the $19.99 cost for Touchdown as the Charge is useless to me if I can't sync with Exchange.
f they won't do it, I'll just return the phone and get something else.
Try Touchdown and see if it works for you.
Good luck.

riffrafter,
If everything else is working okay on your Charge phone DO NOT return the phone over $20. Just take a deep breath and cool-it. You've had much worse things happen to you during your lifetime and $20 is no-big-deal to fix something you really needed to be fixed.
Best regards,

JerryF,
Everything else is not working as it should.
Most annoying issue is trying to enter PW for voicemail (or any call that requires you to punch in some numbers during the call) and the screen flickers and goes black after entering 2 or 3 digits and further keypresses are ignored.
Also, re: my corporate email issue - $20 is no big deal except that I don't like the fact that I have to pay $20 for a feature that is supposed to be included and work on my $200 phone.
And why is this phone so far behind on the ANdroid OS version? ICS is out now (ver 4.0) and we're still stuck with Froyo (2.2)?
Many people have done their own upgrades and report that Gingerbread fixes many of the issues that people are experiencing. You'd think VZW and Samsung would want to get an update out as fast as possible...

It's a shame...I really like phone. Especially now that I have it in an Otterbox Commuter case. Case adds the perfect amount of protection without being too bulky and gives the phone a lot more solid "feel".
Hoping for an OS upgrade before my 14 day window to return expires so that I can see if it fixes some of the issues...
Thanks for trying to help though.
