I keep getting a message in my messaging inbox that says it was an unsent message,  when I click on it and open it up it is completely blank no sender or any message,  when I delete it it comes right back when I go back to messaging inbox

First try doing a soft reset on your device.

Press and hold the Power button.
Touch
Power off.

Press and hold the Power button to power on the device.

If the message still appears, try doing a battery pull.

Remove the battery with the device powered on.

Replace the battery after about 10 seconds.

Power the device on.

Did that same thing when the message first came up.  Didn't work that time, and didn't work this time either.

I have provided some information below that may help.

Step 1 – Try clearing the application data. *please note that this will reset the applications settings to default. Instructions below:

-Press Menu

-Select Settings

-Select Applications

-Select Manage Applications

-Select Messaging (or the 3rd party messaging application)

-Select Clear data

Step 2 – Try removing the message from Safe mode. Safe mode is a method that allows the device to run without non-essential applications. This is beneficial for troubleshooting 3rd party applications. Instruction listed below:
