I cannot sync with Outlook 2003 on Exchange 2003. Our system does not use SSL. The promotional information with Droid X says that it does this sync.
I called technical support and they had me download touchdown exchange app. Now I notice that it is only a 30 day trial and I have to pay for it. They also referred to a K-9 app, which didn't work.
My system administrator and I worked on this and finally gave up and downloaded touchdown. I really don't like the app, but this apparently is the answer. If this doesn't get worked out quickly, I will return my Droid X, as all my contact phones and emails are in outlook and the phone is virtually worthless to me.

Had the same problem with one of my email accounts. It uses TLS instead of SSL and the Droid X currently has no option to change to this type. I contacted both Verizon and Motorola and the gave me the same answers to use touchdown and K9 to solve the problem. However, the Motorola tech told me that when Android 2.2 comes out "around the 9th", that will resolve the issue. He claimed that the 2.2 update has a lot of enhancement for email including corporate email accounts. I would at least wait until the update if you can, to see if this solves the problem.
