Cannot text to some phone numbers

When I try to text my sister's phone I get the error message-  "must contain valid recipients and content"-  I can call her mobile number but can't text to it.  Any ideas on what may be going on?

Make sure when you're texting that when you type the number in you want to text it looks like this ***-***-****  .  Area code - then the number or it will give you that exact message.

With that format, " ***-***-****" I get the same message.  As I said, it so far has only been with a rare number.  Most of the time it is OK.

I note that when I click the number to call from Contacts list her name is in a gray box with a red question mark in front of her name.  Could it some how be entered incorrectly in my contacts list?

Thete must be an error of some kind somewhere. Try deleting that contact altogether and re-enter the info and save.

I erased the contact and retyped the same exact number and now it works.  Must have been a gremlin.

Problem solved.
