Change text message sound?

I have downloaded a new ring tone that I want to use for all my text message but can't seem to find out how I make that happen. I have tried changing it to a phone ring tone but it does not come up in the text menu in the settings as one of the options to choose my ring tone for all incoming text messages.

If you click on messages then click on menu and then settings there is an option to change the notification.

Yes I do see the "notification sound" where you can change it, but when I scroll through the available ring tones mine is not listed in there. So how do I get it to list in there?

I believe if you make a folder on the root of your SD card called notifications then place the ring tone there it will then show up in the notification menu. Is suggest downloading and using astro to browse the SD card from your phone.
