Changing default so that reminder is not automatically set on calendar

The calendar SETTINGS do not have "no reminder" as an option, which means every time I want to NOT have a reminder on a calendar entry, I have to manually change the reminder to "None". Since I generally don't want reminders, it would be much quicker if there was a way to make "None" the default setting for calendar reminders. Any suggestions?
