Charge belt carrier

OK, I get what you want to meet your usage/lifestyle.  The only thing I am not clear on is the idea of charging the phone while still in the holster.  Isn't that a little dangerous...I know I would absent-mindledly get up and try to walk somewhere, probably snapping the usb connector in the process.

You're correct, I don't charge the phone in the holster.  I do take it out and leave it somewhere when it's charging, sometimes forgetting it's not with me and missing a call when I'm elsewhere in the house.  I don't want to have to take anything (shell) off the phone to charge it though. 

Also I have a spare battery, so I sometimes just change batteries and charge outside the phone.  Again, I don't want to have to take a shell off the phone to change batteries.

By the way, in another thread, someone mentioned belt carriers for other phones which have batteries and can charge the phone while it's in the carrier.  That would be nice, but you'd still have to take the carrier off to charge it.

The shell from the Verizon shell/holster set allows you to connect the usb cable for charging without taking the shell of the phone.  It is only when the shell is in the holster that you can't connect the usb cable - it is blocked by one of the arms that hold the shell in the holster.

Thanks for the clarification. I misread one of the Amazon reviews which talked about charging.

Having to take the phone out of the holster to charge wouldn't bother me.

Better still ... how about a rechargeable holster?  These exist for the iPhone and for several Blackberry phones.  A rechargeable holster would provide the belt mounting you desire.  AND, in addition, it would solve the oft-mentioned problem of limited battery life.  At least one after market manufacturer says that it intends to produce such a device in the future but cannot provide a timeline for when it will do so.  It would make sense for Samsung to produce such an accessory now.
