I skimmed the boards for this issue already but didn't really see a topic on this, so apologies if it's already been discussed.
Something I have noticed since 2.2........on occasion I will click on one person's text message to respond to that person, but I will instead be brought to someone else's text message instead. I know for a fact that I did not accidentally choose the wrong person to respond to, because the person I was trying to respond to was at the top of the screen and the person's text I was actually brought into was at the bottom of the screen, and i don't have fat fingers!!
Hopefully this makes sense.....anyone else having an issue like this at all???
Until your message I thought I was going crazy. This happens to me pretty often, I click on a message and get take to another message in my inbox from a totally different person. It is very strange and only started happening since the update. I'd love to know why too.
First make sure that you have the most updated software on the phone.
From the main screen, touch Menu
Touch Settings
Touch About Phone
Touch System Updates
Then dial *228 send and option 1 on the device.
Then try deleting old messages that you do not need, and verify your contact settings.
What sometimes happens is that the accelerometer in the phone tilts the screen when the device is moved suddenly. That would cause to the user to select the wrong message unknowingly. Try holding the phone in an upright position when messaging.
I've had that problem, as well. Try re-calibrating your screen/keyboard. When I did that, it reduced how frequently that happened by about 1/3.
I can't remember how I managed to do that, though. If you figure it out, let me know.
To recalibrate the screen, go into the apps list and choose the SETUP app. Never mind. Not there anymore.
in order to recalibrate the screen goto menu>settings>display>g-sensor calibration
This has helped me with several display/touchscreen issues that I have had in the past, also, its worth making sure that your optical joystick is clean - free of dust/debris and fingerprints, I notice that my joystick acts funny sometimes.
Me TOOOOOO! I have this same problem. I can touch a text to reply and it will open a text message 6 people down from the one i touched.
This has happened to me as well...i would love to know how to fix it....nothing worse than sending the wrong reply to the wrong girl...way too much explaining to do.
