Clock problems Incredible 2

my HTC Droid Incredible 2 has developed clock problems this past week.

-when I tap the clock part of the clock and weather widget nothing happens.

-tapping on the weather part of the clock and weather widget works like it should.

-the lock screen shows that my alarm is set for my weekday alarm, but the alarm never goes off.

-when I open the app drawer there is no clock or alarm clock icon.

-when I press the search icon on the Home screen and type C the only applications shown are Calculator & Calendar.

Anybody have any idea what is going on and how I can get the clock / alarm clock function to work again?

Thanks,

Gary

I have had this problem a couple of times.  The only way to fix it is to do a factory reset on the phone.

Sounds like a hard reset is the only solution because from your description the clock app somehow got removed from device which a hard reset is the only way to restore the app.

Thanks.  Any advice on making a hard / factory advice as painless as possible?

Backup all apps and data with MyBackup before starting reset but only restore apps and messages because cantacts and appointments are restored when logged into Google and usually cause doubling of contact and appointment data..

Great suggestions Community members!

garyyager,

I would like to add another suggestion.  You may only need to reset the "Clock" application in the Settings menu.  This will clear the application and allow it to start afresh.  I am including instructions how to reset the "Clock" application for the HTC DROID Incredible 2 below:

Reset Application - HTC DROID Incredible 2 ADR6350

Let me know how this works out for you!

Anthony,

When the clock "Goes Away" on the Dinc2 the only things lit up on the screen you are suggesting is "Move to SD card" and "About" the app show with all Zeros for size.

my HTC Droid Incredible 2 has developed clock problems AGAIN.

-tapping on the weather part of the clock and weather widget works like it should.

-when I open the app drawer there is no clock or alarm clock icon.

-when I press the search icon on the Home screen and type C the only applications shown are Calculator & Calendar.

I tried your suggestion:

-when I go to settings>applications>manage applications>clock the button to forceclose, clear data, clear cache are all grayed out and can't be pushed.

Is this a known problem?

Is there any date when it might be fixed?

Is there any less drastic way to solve this problem besides a factory reset?

The factory reset worked, but I really don't want to continually have to do that.

Thanks,

Gary

I had this same issue with my Droid 2. I went to settings updates and did a search for any updates. There is a firmware update that has fixed this issue with my phone. You may want to try the same with yours. If you have any questions on how to get to your updates please feel free to ask.

Thanks
