Confused about music transfer

Hi, I just got my new Droid X after being disappointed with my Blackberry. 

I am somewhat confused about downloading my music from my computer to my phone.  I figured out how to copy the files onto my SD card, but the card won't hold all my songs.  The phone says it has 6GB internal memory, while the SD card is only 2GB.  I have about 4GB of music in Itunes on my computer.  Can't I get the music into the phone's internal memory or does it have to stay on the SD card?  Do I need to get a bigger card?

The internal storage is reserved for software installation and system files only, yje 2 Gig card is the SD Card compacity and if you are tring to copy 4Gigs of data, you are exceeding the cards limit.... If you nrrf more space you will have to replace the sd card with a larger card.
