Hi,
I haven't seen anything related to this question on any forum. When I connect my Droid to my PC (Windows XP/SP3) I follow the instructions on page 33 of the "Droid User Guide" (touch "USB connection" and then "Mount". etc.). It then brings up a "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box on my PC. It asks "Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for software?". There are 3 options:
Yes, this time only
Yes, now and every time I connect a device
No, not this time
I do not select any of the above. Instead I just exit the dialog box. When I do this a "Found New Hardware" balloon message appears in my system tray. It says "A problem occurred during hardware installation. Your new hardware might not work properly." Even though I get this message, it appears to work correctly because I have downloaded numerous music and picture files successfully to my Droid. Everytime I connect my Droid to the PC I go through this. Do I need to select a "Yes" option in the "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box to let Windows search for a driver, or is there a driver somewhere else that I need to download and install?
Thanks for any suggestion.
