How can i put a contact on my home screen to save finding them in the contacts list?

Go to Apps > Widgets, then slide over until you find the Contact widget.  Press and hold, then place where you want it on your home screen, then let go.  You'll then be taken to your contacts ... choose the one you want.  You should now have that contact has a direct-dial on your home screen.
