Contacts arranged by first name

Is it possible to change the contact list so it list by last name instead of first name?  How?

Unfortunately this option is not available. The only option is first name then last name. Hope this helps.

If you don't have it already, you might try "guesture search" from the market. Remember Google basic idea is one of searching, rather than allowing you numerous way to organize.
I hardly use "contacts" anymore.

This is possible in the next OS update which you should see sometime in the next week to 10 days. Simply go into contacts, click the settings button, Click Display Options, click Sort List By, and select last name.

You could reverse save the names. Put last name in first name and viceversa.

I know this isn't what you are looking for, but if you needed to find someone with a certain last name this would be helpful.  I love the voice capabilities with the Droid.  If you are looking for a friend with the last name Wilson for instance, simply press the microphone button on the home page and the say "Call Wilson" and it will give you a list of all of the people with the last name Wilson in your phone.
