Just got my Droid 2 Global and am very much enjoying it except for two things.  I'm synching with my company's exchange server and when it loaded the contacts, it sorts the contacts in first name order.  How do I change the sort order so it goes by last name?  Is there an app for that?

 

Second, when it went through the synchronization, it apparently also went through my sent mail and dredged up everyone I've sent an email to.  Why?

 

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Some devices have a option for this with GB update, try

1. Opening dialer and select menu

2. Menu

3. Display Option

4. Sort List By

5. Sekect By Lastname or Firstname

 

Step 1:
From your contacts list, hit the Menu key, then select Display Options.

Step 2:
In Display Options, select Sort list by.

Step 3:
Select Last name to sort your contacts by last name.

I don't think that the Droid 2 Global has the Gingerbread (Android 2.3) update yet.

Sorting by last name might not be available in the FroYo (Android 2.2 version).

Ann154 is correct, thanks Ann154! I have checked this device and I am not showing that it has the capability to sort the contacts by last name. If it is updated to the Gingerbread software, then the steps above will be available for you. I hope this information is helpful. Have a good day!

How in the world would that work, given that there's no plan to release gingerbread for the droid 2 global, according to the call center reps?
