Coverage

I have the Droid 2 global and I noticed that on your coverage map it shows full coverage in Doha Qatar yet I have yet to have a single bar muchless roaming since I've been here. I'll be here for 3 months and I don't want to suspend my phone and then it extend my contract or make my upgrade take longer. Can someone contact me on this via email? .. since I can't make a phone call. It's {edited for privacy}. I can't contact customer service with my phone hence no service. I get wifi in my dorms. i want to find out what I can do since I can't even use my phone here even tho it shows 3G coverage/roaming in Doha. I'm from Utah but stationed here in Qatar until July. Thanks!

Hi Emissa,

We apologize your having issues in Doha, Qatar. Being out of the United States, you would be roaming. We do show coverage in that area. However, as much as we show the coverage, the service is not guaranteed. Perhaps you can power your device off and back on to see if power cycling can refresh the signals to the 3rd party towers in your area. I am providing a link for your reference about the service in Doha, Qatar.

The link is: http://b2b.vzw.com/international/Global_Phone/Middle_East/Qatar.html#other

I am also providing a phone number to Global Phone support. You could contact them to be assisted if your trying to use your phone from that location. Also, you would have needed to activate a Sim card. The Global Phone support team could assist you with phone activation.

Please call 908-559-4899 for international roaming assistance. Please have your mobile device available for troubleshooting purposes. They would not be able to activate your Sim card via email. It is requested you contact them from a alternate phone until you can get your phone working after the activation process is completed.
