D2G, No Sim Card message, Calls and Internet works but does not send or receive texts

This phone has been giving me lots of problems lately.  It is a reman phone.  It worked good for the first few months I had it.  It has been glitching and freezing up a lot for the past few months. 

The first time I got the no sim card message was right after I pulled the battery out because it froze up.  I pulled the battery and the sim card then put it back in and it worked fine.  It did this a few times the past month or so.  Just this week it did it again, only starting and restarting it did not make the sim card show up.

The only thing that I find does not work, is that it will not send or recieve texts.

What should I do?  Do I need a new sim card or new phone?  I live 50 miles from the closest vzw store and the one in this town does not do anything but tell you to go to the main store.  So I would like to be able to fix it myself.

If you are using the phone in the US, you don't need the SIM card at all.  The No Sim Card message is annoying but doesn't break anything.  You can try reseating the SIM card to see if the message goes away, but it's not important.

Re texts, that must be something else.  Are you using the text message application that comes with the phone, or did you download one?   You can always try doing a factory reset to see if that helps.

I have been using the factory text already on the phone. 

I just did the factory reset.  It still wont let me text.

I decided to try a text app.  It still does the same thing, no texts.

As soon as I send the text it automaticlly dings and says text not sent.  I have not recieved a text in a week.  Even though people said they have texted me.

Have you tried to put your phone in safe mode? Safe Mode temporarily disables all applications that have been installed via the Android Market. Performing this troubleshooting step is necessary to determine whether a 3rd party application is the cause of the No Sim error message you are receiving.
