DI2 Delivery report automatically beeps and adds message in status bar

SMS delivery report automatically beeps and adds message in status bar even though that option is disabled in the settings. I checked with someone who has a Thunderbolt and I checked the new Rezound at a store, they both did it too! What's the point of having an option of turning that on or off if it doesn't work????? WIll only do it if "delivery report" is enabled. I just want to see a check mark next to the txt I send without hearing a beep and having crap on my status bar. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Yes, thank you, i just want to see the delivery report message in the status bar without it making a sound or vibrating.
I have tried messing with all the settings and cannot seem to make it stop.
I do not have it set as making a sound for sent massages, my hTC Wildfire did this, showed the delivery report in the status bar without making an audible sound. The message sound it makes makes me think i got a reply to my message or another text messages since it is the same as my received message tone, it is driving me crazy.
