DRM protected PDF files

Hello,

Hope someone can clue me into what I am doing wrong.  I use Overdrive for EPUB files from the library but they also have PDF files I would like to read which are DRM protected.  On the website it says that I can use Adobe Digital Editions and transfer the file from the library website to my computer and then my computer to my phone.  I can't seem to get the file to transfer from my computer to the phone.  Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks for any help. :smileyhappy:

Do you have a link to try because I havent seen this issue, I only thought PDF was restricted from being edited...

Android cannot handle DRM(at least right now), so if they are indeed DRM protected, there isn't a way to view them, unless you do something like put them on your computer, take a screenshot and then save it as a PDF. Wouldn't be the same quality, but it is a workaround as long as you do not have a lot of pages.

Are you able to print DRMs?  If you can, you can easily install a PDF printer and create an unrestricted copy of that PDF that should be read by the phone.

Not sure if this will work. During the last update I had for the Aldiko application, I noticed that they added support for drm protected files and you just needed to log into your adobe digital editions account. The application also supports importing of pdf files.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Maybe someone can enlighten me, why would they need to add DRM to a pdf?  Just curious because out all my years I havent ever ran into this issue.

I thought the discussion was toward removing DRM.

You can discuss DRM but usually if the subject gets into removing DRM to the point that the moderators concider that it is braking forum policies the thread usually gets closed because discussing or instructions on how to remove a companies security features isnt allowed...  I have seen DRM on music and videos but never PDF files and I just thought it was strange.

To Wildman,

Here is a link to Overdrive where the OP is getting the files that are either epub or pdf format that comes with DRM protection.  I looked into using it at one time for lending books from my library and reading on my Nook e-reader, but never got around to setting it up completely.
