I have the Droid, and I'm looking to upgrade to a newer Droid phone. My question is, which phone is worth the upgrade?

It al depends on what you are looking for aand who you talk to because all devices has had users report a like and dislike of a device, I have the Thunderbolt and basically I love the device but other dislike it..
Since I do not live in a 4G area the TB has been great for me because it is the only device that allows voice and data on 3g and 4g and with the extended battery I dont concern myself with poert issues but each to their own......
My vote is the Thunderbolt.

By reading the threads it seems theyve never produced a smartphone that is issue free! Something seems to be wrong with everyone of them! I have a Droid 3 and it has its moments

I agree with Wildman. My suggestion is to take two or three droids and read the reviews and do a comparison. I was leaning toward the Bionic, but I think I'll go with the Thunderbolt when my time is up. Don't ask me why, because I really can't tell you. It's the minute differences that made me decide.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Now that the new Razr and the Galaxy Nexus have been announced you have some outstanding choices. Like you I've been using an OG Droid for awhile now and I have waited a long time for the Nexus to finally land on Verizon. After watching the press conference last night on the new phone and on Ice Cream Sandwich I can see that it was almost worth the wait. I'm so glad I didn't rush out and get a Bionic.

Thanks for all of the comments! I've had my DROID for about a year and a half now and it has been giving me issues every once in a while. I almost threw the phone at the grocery store the other day when I couldn't get on the internet and check my bank account.
My fiance has the same phone and made a good point; after owning this phone for a while, it has to be programmed to stop working...that way you have to go out and get a new one. I am starting to believe it!

Many things are personal preferences, but there are three big questions that can help guide your selection of Android phone.
1) Does it have to be 4G? If yes, then there is a growing set of phones, but currently available are Thunderbolt, Charge, Bionic, with RAZR etc coming very soon.
2) Do you need global capabilities? This really narrows the choice! Currently only the Droid 3, Droid Pro and the HTC Incredible 2 are Android Global (you might have also heard of the jPhone 4S or something, that is global but of course not Android!)
3) Do you need a physical keyboard? This is in some way more like personal preference because the forums are full of people saying that they really thought they needed one, for some reason got a phone without, and then realized they LOVE not having one etc etc. A few phones have them, Droid 3, Droid Pro, LG Enlighten and Samsung Stratosphere
