DROID X Locked Down by Motorola

Motorola has added some Encryption scheme to the X, seems rooting may be a while out.

No doubt with full approval of Big Red they want to emulate Apple lock down strategy, will you be buying the "X".

Abso-friggin'- lutely.

You bet yer bippy I will. I spent 45 minutes with a Droid X this morning. One has my name on it tomorrow. And my life is waaay too hectic to worry about unlocking or rooting or whatever you call it. No loud pipes or 4-barrel carburetors or full-lift cams for this old-timer (anymore...:smileysurprised:))). Give me that puppy dead-cold stock.

Have I made it clear that I will be buying one yet?

An interview I read from a Motorola Exec stated they were having it encrypted to help minimize software and hardware issues that people would claim warranty issues.  I read this several months ago, but it's merely a matter of time before a crack is developed for this phone.

Also Iphone is being sued for their locking down and filtering of programs/apps from customer phones.  So with that said, I do not believe that is the angle Motorola is trying to follow.

I've heard something about that before, but with all encryptions etc it's just a matter of time before they are cracked.  I don't personally care to have mine cracked because it sounds like it can do everything I want it to plus more.
