I just upgraded from an LG Vortex to a DROID X2. I had my school email on my vortex and it worked fine now that I have upgraded to the DROID it is not letting me send emails from my school email. My gmail account works just fine but my school email is not letting me send emails it only lets me receive them. I contacted the school IT department and they assured me that the email setting are correct and suggested that I check out a forum that they found on Verizon website. I looked at it and it looks like they are having the same issue as me but with a different email provider and the forum gave them a step by step on how to set up their email through Earthlink but since I am not trying to set up an Earthlink email I was hoping someone could help me by giving me a step by step on setting up my school email. I am currently attending Butler County Community College.
Thanks,
Amber

Be sure that the SMTP server is setup correctly, SMTP server is used to send if you have a POP email server. Your schools IT department should know the server name and if it requires a username and password.

amberdaly, I know how important it is to have communication with your school because I rely on email and notifications from my school for important information. I would check the incoming and outgoing server. Steps are below. If you continue to have issues, we can assist you further over the phone.
Server addresses, security information and additional support can be obtained from the email provider.
- From a home screen, select App menu (located in the lower right).
- Select Settings.
If the application icon is missing, select App menu filter (located at the top) then select All apps.
- Select Accounts.
- Select the email account.
- Select any of the following; General Settings, Incoming Server, Outgoing Server, or Other Settings.
General settings
- Verify the following.
- Account name
- Real name
- Email address
- Select OK.
Incoming server
- Verify the following.
- Select the current mail server drop down.
- Select one of the following.
- POP mail server (pop.earthlink.net)
- IMAP mail server
- Server
- Username (Full email address)
- Password
- Select Advanced settings.
- Select OK
- Select OK
Outgoing server
- Verify the following.
- SMTP server (smtpauth.earthlink.net)
- Username (Full email address)
- Password
- Select Advanced settings.
- Select OK.
- Select OK.

I have checked with the school and they assure me that all the settings that I have set on my phone are correct. They didnt have any suggestions on how to fix the problem except to try to install it again. I tried installing the email on my phone several times and everytime it tells me the same thing when i try and send an email. Who should I contact at Verizon to get help with this?

If your SMTP port number is correct, what about the rest of it. Have you checked your user name and/or your password. Check especially your password.
