I registered this issue with Motorola as well. It seems like VZW/Google/Motorola really dropped the ball here and if they do not resolve ASAP my guess is there'll be serious spike in returns under the 30 day return policy.

Sprint Hero had the same problem until they fixed it about 60 days in and thousands of dollars lost in returns.

Two comments...
First, Android phones have never had this capability. It has been on the developers 'to-do' list for over a year that I know of - so don't hold your breath on a quick fix. I wish they would add it to the base OS, but... See item #2 below.
Second, there is an app that DOES support these features you can use. It is called TOUCHDOWN by NitroDesk. Look it up on the Google Marketplace. It works great, and I can confirm it works on Exchange servers that require PIN + remote wipe.

Have been using Exchange by Touchdown and you are right it is the best solution for right now.
