Man, I'll bet you were running though batteries at a frenzied rate during that time!..:smileyhappy:)

Fortunately I had access to electrical outlets, but yes I did drain a battery very quickly when on battery power.  I can certainly attest to how hot a phone can physically get and still function.  I had a friend who had AT&T and they would throttle him about a week into the billing cycle on his "unlimited" plan.  He switched to VZW after a couple months of it.

I registered just to tell you all that I'm posting this from my phone which is currently capped at 10kBps. Kilo. Byte. Awesome. It would take me a minute and 42 seconds to fill up a floppy disc. Yep.

The best part is I'm paying 30 dollars a month for unlimited data. They might as well add more tiers for people that use their data plans if they want more money.

The only way you would be capped at 10k is either violation of TOS or roaming on another carriers tower.

I'll believe 10kb when I see an unedited screenshot of speedtest.

Okay, my Bee-S-o-meter just went off the scale on this one.

Put up or shut up.

Screenshots, documentation, something.

That's the hope you have of shedding the "Troll" tag.

Check your local service while yer at it.

10kbps is slower than a 14kbps modem used to connect over the phone line.  I have heard of people being throttled to 10kbps for unauthorized tethering and Torrent/Fileshare use, both of which are a violation of the Terms Of Service.  I have however NEVER heard of any contract abiding customer being throttled like that with VZW.

Which site would you like a screenshot of? And how can I do that on my phone?

If you are checking these pages you are getting better than 10kbps, it would take about 5 mins to load each page @ that speed.

Keep yer shirt on. Someone called wildman will read this and post instructions for how to capture screen shots.

Maybe after this one is debunked, we can move on to bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster.

This isn't something I do a lot, but there is a free app called "Speedtest" in the app market. Use this app to see how fast (or slow) your connection actually is. Then, when you learn how (and I don't know how because I'm not trying to make a case for something), post the screenshot of Speedtest here.

I'm also saying that it's entirely possible that your connection is that slow,  but it is NOT because Verizon has identified you as a Bandwidth Hog and throttling down your connection on purpose. Again, it could a tower issue issue in your area. I've called Verizon once about slow data where I work (it was really slow for a few days, then went back to normal. I had memorized AT&T's trouble line over slow or no data issues).

Two separate issues. Learn the difference.

Thanks I'll get the app and take a screenshot (after I google how)  later today when the speeds are slower. To clarify I mean kilobytes.. not bits.. 8 bits in a byte right? 80kpbs. It did take me quite a while of hitting refresh to get this site to load though. Especially the sign in and registration process.

I tried a speed test on dslreports.com late last night and averaged about 600kbps after 10 or so tests. They have a section for mobile internet access. This leads me to believe there is throttling going on when I get home from work.
