Data Roaming Speeds

Where I live falls under Verizon's 'Extended Network' which uses US Cellular towers for service. I can access everything I would on the Verizon Network, but the data speed is horrible. I know US Cellular doesn't have the same speed as VZW, and I'm OK with that, but when I did a side-by-side comparison with my D1 and the new US Cell Android phone, I was only able to get Dial Up speed, while they were getting over 1mb.
Anyone know why there would be a cap on the data speed? Anyone else live in an 'Extended Network' area that has faster speeds?
All information is helpful.
Thanks in advance.

I would imagine they would give preference to US Cellular customers first before to roamers.

I agree... I hoped they wouldn't cap it at such a slow speed! haha
Also - there aren't any data roaming charges. I've had a "smartphone" data package for years with no roaming charges. (fingers crossed)

yeah, unless you're near the canada or mexico borders and possible roaming on another network there, you don't have to worry about roaming charges

As long as you set your phone to "Home Only," you should be fine.

I would still be leery that you could get charged for roaming data on a network that isn't Verizon.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
