In several cases, I have the same phone number assigned to multiple contacts. For example I have our home lanline assigned as my mother's, my father's, and my own home number and I also have it in a separate contact along with all of my family's numbers so I can set them all in one ICE contact.. My problem is that when I get a call or text from a number, I have no control over which contact it shows up as. The home landline always shows up as my dad, and my dad's cell always shows up as being the "home" that is mainly for ICE. Is there any way to set which contact a call or text shows up as being from when one number is assigned to multiple contacts?

Don't know of a quick way to do this, but it is probably one of two things. Either the caller ID tag shows as the first person who was assigned that number, or the first person (alphabetically) in your contact list with that number. So, you can try to delete that number from everybody and add it to who you want it to show as, or put an "a" in front of their name to force them to the top of the list. Me, personally, I just have it as something generic, home, work, etc.

I'll mess around some more, but if anybody knows the algorithm it uses, that'd be great. I haven't been able to find any rhyme or reason to it.

Yeah, I't is giving me one that is somewhere in the middle both alphabetically and in order of assignment.
