I’m having a problem dialing from my calendar, when I tap on the number in the e-mail, Droid tries to start the MAPS or VZ Navigator APP? Is there a way to stop this? Everyone I work with is having the same problem. Typically the number string looks like this 888-423-3456,,1,,34567887. My old BlackBerry would dial this just fine, this is very problematic for me, need help.

It dials fine for me as long as the phone number is in the description field. Anywhere else and the maps open just as you are experiencing.

Dialing from the description field appears to not interpret commas to pause dialing. Vfontjr, are experiencing the same thing?

You are correct. I didn't check for the commas the first time I tried.

There are apps in the Android Market that can do this. I'm using the Android Calendar Dialer on a Motorola Droid with good success for all of the appointments I create and nearly all of those I receive (depends on how the organizer fills the event location field).

Have you tried pressing and holding until the option menu comes up instead of just clicking the number?
