Did the new Droid update, now all but 3 contacts are gone!!!

Please help.  I did the new update night before last, and just now noticed I only have 3 of my contacts.  They are random.  I have all my favorites still there, and my call log is there.  Just no more contacts, except those 3.  May or may not be related to the update, Any advice?

- Contacts No Longer in Contacts List

• Go to Contacts > Menu > Display Options.
• Tap on your GMail account to drop down that list
• Check everything in that list
• Back out and they should be in there
• Explanation - Sometimes after a SW update, the contacts groups will go back to default and "hide" some (or possibly all) of your contacts.
