Unless the Galaxy Nexus turns out to be exceptional, holding on to your Droid Xs and X2s is a really good idea.

Sorry to hear that it was not as good as you thought it would be.

I almost bought one, but the delay into September caused me to delay a purchase because of a shortage of money (Property taxes due).... and by the time I am back into looking into phones, I will be looking at the Nexus and the possible Droid Razr now... Bionic is off my radar

It's a great piece of hardware, but I don't know out of the three culprits here (Verizon, Moto, the Android devs) how the software could be so screwed up.

The data connections loss, the activation issues, the app issue between the internal memory and SD card, the noisy headphone jack...and these are just the issues I've dealt with.

And I don't see the Moto Razr competing well against the Galaxy Nexus. Even if it's right coming out of the gate.

At least I have this new iPad to take my mind off of my Bionic troubles for a while. I will say one good thing about the Bionic...today, I bought the wifi-only version of the iPad and activated the Bionic's hotspot. And the hotspot worked perfectly all afternoon, at least when I was connected to it....

My guess's on who has screwed up what on this peice of excellent hardware.

Data connection Loss - Moto Devs & Hardware Dev's - The should have provided a switch for 3g/4g, 3g only, and 4g only in the software.I have a feeling that they have the radios too close to each other which the frequencies are close enough to cancel each other out. By providing a way to do 3g or 4g by itself would solve that problem.

Internal/SD card problem - Moto Dev's - This one mystifies me to how they screwed this up. I think that they tried to make it a little faster on boot, but there is a fine line on saving some cycles of CPU on boot, and not allowing the software to fully scan for everything.

Noisy Headphone Jack - Hardware Dev's - Bad grounding

I think the Rzr will stack up pretty close to the Nexus, from what I see on the runored specs. Same processor, same amount of RAM, I think that they have the same amount of storage, Razr has more mp in the back camera, Nexus has a bigger screen. Of course, the specs are rumors until the phones are officially launched. The downfall of the Razr could be the new 'Blur', unless they have that as an addon, where you can use it or not, but more than likely it will be built into the OS. But then again, Google and Moto Dev's might have gotten together to make blur run cleaner/better/more reliable for this launch. Time will tell.

Interesting comments about the Bionic, Gerio. I too, watched the Bionic section of the forum and balked on it after reading the initial issues.

Back to the OP's question, I completely agree with those that want no part of another software update. Froyo and then GB.......ICS would likely be another cluster.

The Bionic is disappointing (IMO) and the rumored iphone 5 turned out to be a 4 1/2. I think my X is taking me into 2012.

Yea, +1   ....  the more I watch the battle of the phones going on, with new announcements like every 4 months, well, I'm just hanging onto my DX ...  It really has been a great phone for me with only 1 irritant - the power-up-after-shutdown. I'll just wait to see the dust settle over the next year and will jump to a 4G phone when the time comes.

Oh, and it's getting better...

My Bionic, the second one I've had, has decided to stop taking calls. At all.

Pulled the battery and SIM, all the usual tricks. No luck...

Geez... I just might have to repo my old X back from my daughter...

Perhaps I would have more luck with Skype on my new Ipad... :smileyhappy:)

My "X" has been serving me just peachy since launch day and through all the upgrades.  Since my 20th month upgrade isn't until March of 2012, it's looking more and more like it will be my phone of choice at least until then. (Maybe longer)

I'm sure there will be some sweet looking phones on the table or at least "in the works" by then to choose from.

"Here's looking at you, kid!
