There is no way for you to revert back to Froyo once you updated to GB...

A factory reset will not erase your software version, only what's actually on the phone.

I'm not sure exactly how to go back a version, or if you're even able to

I guess you could buy a new "X" that still has Froyo on it....

Why would you be surprised? Any method of reverting back to an old OS is not allowed to be discussed here, so why bother?

I have made a sound decision to try to stray away from suggesting a user look into methods that can void warrenty or damage the users device....  The solution isnt for everyone but on the same note I have been surprised of the number of users recently that has investigated this solution and infact made things worse for them because they did something that was outside the normal solution and then they didnt get what they was doing was against policies and decided to come here for answers instead of the site that they recieved the solution from..

I want to help users with solutions but directing them to do something they dont understand or comprehend the level of risk of doing isnt really going to help but create more issues.  It has been a regular pattern lately to see users complain about a issue and learned that they made unauthorized changes that caused this issue because they did not understand what they did and how to fix or resolve the problem.

The negativity on this forum has grown incredablly because users have not took out the time to learn their device and blaming everyone for their issues, it has got a bit out of hand...

Amen to that. Reading the same complaints over and over and over again.  Because people just do not want, or can not, to do any research into a specific problem is one reason I do not come to the forum every day as I used to. It's old hat, as they used to say.

I'll say, Wildman. Well said! Bravo!

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I hear what ur saying wildman. Too many people doing the unmenrtonable like I did but I did it out of frustration. Got tired of factory resets and battery pulls. I took the plunge but I understood the risks and fault no one for my choices.
