Driod 2 usage data

hello,

I have the droid 2 with the 150mb data package. I havent even came close to going over in my first two months. There are a few apps i want to get like handsent, so if i got it would i be using data everytime i open it up to text or not? there are other apps i may want but dont know how much data it might use. if someone could help i would greatly appreciate it.

I believe if you have a text messaging plan it goes against that, not data.

Handcent doesn't add any extra usage over the stock messaging app.

Well, apart from the data use in the initial download of the app and any updates, but those are fairly small.

Thanks to the community members for the input. However, downloading the app will use data. Unless the handsent app has a way to text to a mobile number, the information you may receive from the handsent app could use your data. Also, please check to see if there is a texting feature with the handsent app that is not a special service messaging service with charging beyond standard texting rates.
