Hi,
I am in the process of purchasing the Motorola Droid, however, I know that this phone will be discontinued in the near future with the expectations that the Droid 2 will replace it.
I have not found a release date for the Droid 2 yet so I am wondering....
If I purchase the Droid 1 this week, will I be able to return it for the Droid 2 when it comes out in the future? I am not a fan of the D-pad on the Droid 1 and from what I have read the Droid 2 does away with the D-pad.
Could I do this? Would I run into any issues?
Thank you

Only if it's been within 30 days. Believe the rumored data is mid to late august but nothing is official

Why do you not like the D-pad? The Droid 2 will still have directional arrows, which are mixed in with all the other buttons & personally I think I might find myself accidentally pushing other buttons if I'm not looking directly at the arrow keys. Having the D-pad to me, prevents me from accidentally hitting wrong keys because I know exactly where it is, not mixed in with other buttons. Personal preferences are all different I guess.
