Droid 2 - 3G problems

I got this phone aboue 3 weeks ago. Last night I was trying to send a picture message and it said something along the lines of 'network services not availiable" or something like that. So I decided to go to sleep and charge my phone and try again in the morning. When I turned it on to try it again it did the same thing so I called Tech suppport and they went through this long process and stuff of trying everything and they eventually told me to factory reset my phone. When I did that I turned it back and to find that 3G is completely gone now... I can't get on the browser and the 3G symbol on the top right isn't even there anymore. Sometimes when I turn off Data and turn it back on it will come on for like 5 minutes and turn off... (usually when my phone is fully charged). Anybody know anything about this?

I am tempted to return my phone before the 30 days are up and get my refund and go back to my $35/month cricket phone A LOT LESS HASSLES TBH

There are a couple of different things you can try with your phone!

Go to settings, Then data manager, then Data delivery, then make sure that Data is enabled.

If you haven't removed your battery yet you can try to do that as well.

Make sure that wifi is disabled.  Go to settings, wireless and network settings, and make sure that wifi is NOT checked.

If none of these resolve your issue, you should probably have VZW technical support take another look at it and possibly replace the phone.

This is a really really rare issue BTW.

i dont think its a rare issue, as ive found 3 different postings on this very issue. ive tried removing the battery, wifi is off, its on the global network, data is enabled..thus, no 3g. oh, and just had a new thing happen. was playing around in the networks, and if i switch from global to cdma, then switch back to global, it bring the 3g icon up, but when i go back to the home screen OR if i back out of every screen individually, the 3g goes away again. this is even more frustrating that not having it at all !!

ok, new update again, lol. was in data manager, and i checked data when roaming, it brought up a box asking if i was sure becuz i might incur roaming charches, and voila...3g is back. i will be calling verizon tomorrow to check and see if i will incur charges, as there are no vz towers in alaska. hoping not. may be a backwards way of getting 3g back, but if it works, and i wont be charged for it, who cares.

Hopefully you heard from Verizon!  Otherwise, I would uncheck that box, because even a day or so of roaming data could be expensive.  (I assume this is still on the CDMA network, right?)
