I have had my DROID 2 for almost 2 years and im close to updating my phone.
but in the meantime, i'd like to have a phone that works well. (that being battery life)
i can charge my phone up to 100% and it goes from 90% to 50% in 30 minutes and then down to 15%.
This gives my battery about 2 hours, including standby...
Should i just get a new battery or what?
If so, how much are they, and would it solve my problem?

Hi LeviRobey,
I have a Droid. I am also having a problem with my battery. However, my battery problem is a little different but may be related to your question. Maybe we can both get some guideance of the battery.
Right now I am NOT using the phone as a phone -- I am only using it to access the internet using my home Wi-Fi network.
WITH THE PHONE COMPLETELY POWERED "OFF". My battery is draining down from 100% Charged, down to 60% Charged -- a 40% loss over about 5 or 6 hours, Overnight.
I have even done a "Factory Data Reset" and have everything turned OFF and nothing running -- ie. NO Wi-FI, GPS, Sync. Location, Blue Tooth, Back -up or any other Services,
I may opt to get a new battery and see if that does anything. Maybe you can try that also. The cost of new batteries are pretty reasonable on EBay.
With your phone, maybe there are Droid and/or some kind of App or something trying to Down Load or maybe there is something else "running" in the backround. . .??

Hey LeviRobey! I know important it is two have a reliable battery. I would suggest replacing your battery. If your phone is still under warranty, it would be replaced for no cost. Otherwise, contact customer service at 800-922-0204. Have a great day!

I am having a problem with my battery life also, I am lucky if I get 24 hours out it after a charge and it's exactly the same since I replaced the battery. This started after I used the GPS for a couple hours straight, during that time I had the phone plugged in with the Verizon provided car charger because the GPS drained the battery. The phone was warm during this time, but not what I would consider as extremely hot.
I do have Juice Defender on my phone and could go close to a week before needing to charge my phone, now I can't go anywhere without carrying a charger with me.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, I really liked this phone before this.

After about 1 year I started having this problem.....I went to the verizon store and one of the girls there put ""Droid Boost High Performance"" app on my phone....and it really helped......and then after another year my battery was really having some problems and I ordered a new battery from amazon for 5.00....shipped and it was like a brand new phone again......Hope this helps.
