Hi all. I have been having a problem with my Droid 2 for the past couple of days. It won't plug into any charger, or at least none will charge it, and when I plug it into my computer it says "Device not Recognized." Before, I will tell you what I've done. I've tried a different USB cable, I've uninstalled then reinstalled the driver on my computer, I've uninstalled all excess apps on my phone, I've pulled the battery. I've tried switching it into the Debugging mode for the USB plug-in. I tried using a different computer.
Someone please help me out! This is driving me insane and right now my phone is close to dead!

It sounds like a hardware problem, but I would try a restore factory defaults just to make sure.
To restore factory defaults turn the phone off. Slide the keyboard open and press and hold the x key. While holding x power the phone on. When the "yield" symbol appears press the search button (magnifying glass). Use the arrow keys to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and press OK.
Wait a couple minutes and try again. If it still won't charge, call Verizon for some new hardware.

It certainly does sound like a hardware problem, and it may be the battery itself. Take it to your local VZW store and they should be able to help you. I would do that before I did any Factory Reset, which will wipe your phone clean.

Thank you jasmar and mortb for your help. I agree it does sound like it's related to the phone. It could be a corrupted usb file. A factory reset may resolve the issue. When you are having an issue with your phone not holding a charge, it's best have a store technician troubleshoot to confirm the issue is related to the phone or battery.
Thanks
