Droid 2 Global 3G not turning on

today I was using the phone checking my email and all of the sudden 3G goes down, I try putting it in airplane mode, rebooting the phone and even connecting to a different cell tower, nothing works, I tried turning 3G3G off then on again, it turns on but when ever I open any apps the 3Gphone icon disappears and 3GI turns off.

Check a couple of things, make sure background data is enabled, and try to toggle data roaming on/off, this should be in your mobile network settings.  The Droid 2 Global has a power save setting that could be enabled to turn off your data.  Lastly try dialing *22899 then press send.

 

If none of these work I would bring the device into a store.

None of that worked, ill try calling tomorrow or maybe take it to a store. Thanks anyways!

I can certainly understand how this can be frustrating.  I have had my phone do that too.  It sounds like you have been very proactive in your trouble shooting.  Basically the final step in trouble shooting would be to do a master reset.  Have you taken this measure?  If not here are the steps to do so:

 

  1. From the main screen, touch menu tab
  2. Touch Settings
  3. Touch Privacy
  4. Touch Factory Data reset
  5. User has the option of Erasing SD Card - if desired check "Erase SD Card"
  6. Touch Reset Phone 
  7. Touch Erase Everything

I tried it to reboot it until it finally started, but now that 3G has started, it still wont work, when I go on the browser it says loading but never does...

I know this can be a bit irritating for you.  I would like to help you.  When you say you tried it are you referring to the factory reset suggested above?  Also, are there any other VZW smartphone users near you that are receiving 3G or experiencing the same thing as your self?  Please let me know as soon as you can, so I can advise you what the next step will be to assist you.  Thank you.

I have tried restarting it, I've tried everything but hard reset, all of my friends and family get full bars, I get 3Git now but when I go to the browser, it just wont load, what do I do next?
