I just got my fourth factory certified replacement Droid 2 and right off the bat I've been having issues with the physical keyboard. The space bar works sporadically, and certain letters either double/triple type or don't type at all unless I push hard on them. I did a factory reset right out of the box (standard procedure for me due to other experiences with this phone) and am still having the issues. I noticed the issues right out of the box before downloading any apps so I don't think I have any interference from a rouge app. I have no faith at all anymore in this model phone and am wondering if anybody else out there is having this, or a similar issue?

I feel your pain Pittmac! I am on my first factory certif. Replacement Droid 2 Global now and need to get a 2nd Replacement ASAP because it started today with these same and other keyboard issues. Additionally, when I'm using data or on the web it Force closes alot ever since the auto update occurred. Furthermore, I can no longer use the charging cords because the slot on the phone it goes in will not stay secure enough to charge up. I've even tried for months now using my Media docking station as a way to charge it but that's not working. And leaving it in my car to charge isn't an option anymore even though that's the only way it will work without me having to continually check to see if the lightning bolt icon is showing.
For you or anyone else reading this, I just want to include some additional history of my problems with this Verizon Motorola less than smart phone, from what I've previously been through with this model. My first original brand new Droid 2 Global was only 2months old (Feb 2011) when it began to have the following list of problems:
1. no audio when people would leave voice messages and it notified me I had voice mail.
2. No ability to hear any sound from the ear part when making or receiving calls.
3. Bluetooth devices connected fine but no audio would work when making or receiving calls
4. Speaker button when selected either at the start or during a phone call would turn green but no sound would come out nor could I be heard. Mute button was NOT activated.
5. Also regarding this sound issue, any keys pressed would not be heard during this process and or when phone was being used for other things.
When I took that phone back to the store they said it was defective and could only give me the first Replacement. I'm about to call it quits and use a messenger pigeon at this point! Seriously, this is not brain surgery and for Verizon and Motorola to have this magnitude of technical and software problems continue to grow by the masses, enough is enough. Make your product WORK! So, if anyone can help with the keyboard dilemma or otherwise, please let me know too. Thanks.

Go to manage applications under "All" and find your keyboard application, it will be "Swype" Or "Multi touch keyboard" . From there hit "Clear Data". This should work. I had the same problem.
