Droid 2 (Motorola) syncing music?

brianpmcculloug

Just got my Droid 2.  I am running 32 bit Windows 7 on my machine that manages my music.  I have some music in iTunes and some in Microsoft Media Player.  What are my options for syncing my music to my Droid 2?  I don't necessarily need to sync my iTunes and Media Player libraries, am fine with instructructions for both, then just syncing with one or the other for now.

FWIW...the long term goal is to get iTunes off my machine.  I want to be done with iTunes and go strictly with Media Player.  But I must first convert all the protected iTunes music files to an unprotected format.  I am a few weeks away from getting the time to get my music back in order.

I've been using Motorola Media Link on Vista 64 for a few months for this (used it on my D1 prior to getting the D2) and haven't had any troubles with it. It connects to the phone is "mass storage" mode rather than sync mode, but works fine. It isn't as full featured as iTunes (no genus lists, playlists are manual only), but it can sync your music, photos and videos.

If you're interested take a look here.
