I just purchased a Droid 2 motorola and am having many difficulties setting it up. Can I assign ringtones to contacts for incoming text messages? Can I assign a ringtone to facebook notifications? text notifications? email notifications? With my blackberry I could do this and I would know by the sound which I was getting without looking at phone. I also could tell who was texting me by the ringtone. Can this be done on the Droid 2 and how?

No, not with the default text message app. There are apps on the Market that will allow it. Can I assign a ringtone to facebook notifications? No idea. There may be other email applications that will allow you to assign to each contact a tone for each function. I don't have a need for that so I haven't looked too deeply.
