Droid 2 power botton stopped functioning...

I own a Motorola Droid 2, and the top botton stopped working. For me to get it out of sleep mode, I would have to flip out the keyboard and press a letter.

So what are my options? Seems to be a common problem when I goggled it, but there were no solutions to it. Its pass a year, so I believe its out of the Manufracter warnity. I believe I do have insurance on it. Would I have to pay the $50 to replace the phone? Or should I go into a Verizon store and see if they can fix it?

If the phone gets replaced, is there a way of keep my Apps on the phone I paid for? I have apps from the Amazon store and apps from the marketplace too.

If I claim the insurance, will it get a droid 2 back or will they exchange it for a different phone?

Paid applications from the Market are tied to your google account. As long as you sign in with the same gmail account, you're good.

The Amazon Appstore would be tied to the credit card you used to purchase them in the Amazon Appstore or your Amazon account.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

The DROID 2 Global was released on the Verizon Wireless network on November 9, 2010 so your device must be less than one year old and still under the manufacturer's warranty. If you would like to confirm this and have a replacement shipped to you (if eligible), please PM me with your wireless number and a contact number where you can be reached, and I will be happy to further assist you.

Thanks,
