I have my pictures in albums on my SD card. The Droid 3 will not show the albums in the Gallery App. All of my pictures are transfered to the phone but they are all separate and mixed up. Some are duplicated??. You can manually set up albums on the phone but I would rather have the info that is already on my SD card. Has anyone else had this problem? Verizon and Motorola are not able to help.

I am not understanding what you mean, you can not store images on the phone because the internal memory is not accessable to allow you to store information, as for the photos on the SD Card have you checked in the folder of the images and made sure the .nomedia file isnt in the folder because this is a file that hides your images from the gallery. If there is a .nomedia file then if you delet it the files should show in gallery after reboot.
Also usually the gallery has a all photos folder that will make it appear you have the file twice but this is just two locations to see the same files.

All my pictures are on my SD card. In (Droid3) Files - File Manager - SD card - DCIM --all of the pictures are there in separate folders (Family, Friends, etc., etc.) If I select a folder, all of the correct pictures are there.
On my old Droid 2, the Gallery would show the same folders. With the Droid 3, stock Gallery app - My Library - My library: Albums there are two folders: one has all of my videos and the other has all of my pictures. The pictures are all mixed up and some are duplicated. It looks like they are grouped by dates. For instance, one group shows “March, 2000” but the pictures under that date have nothing to do with that date??
In other words, the SD card and the Droid3/DCIM file match. The Gallery app on the Droid3 is different.
I did a search for “.nomedia” in SD card. 8 files found. All are 0 KB. Different dates. If I press on any of the files I get “unable to open this type of file.” Pressing menu does nothing.
The local Verizon store and Motorola support were unable to figure it out. I think the phone is so new they don’t really know what it does. There are some issues with the camera (blue tint with pics and more) that will need a software update to fix.
I can add Albums/Folders on the phone itself and then add the various pictures (can multi-select.) Way too much work and when I look at my SD card it still shows my old, original albums???
Thanks for your help.

I have exactly the very same problem... going from a Droid 2 to a Droid 3.. no one knows how to correct it...
in my Droid 2 when I went to Gallery...you can get to individual Albums and they then showed up like if you wanted to attach a pic in an email.. now in the Droid 3 only albums that show up are in My Library ---Videos and All Photos... can't figure out a way to add albums from different apps to My Library.. I use an Image Editor-- Pic Say-- that showed up as an individual album on the Droid 2.. not on the Droid 3
wish someone knew the fix to make Droid 3 like my old Droid 2..
also you are right about issues with the camera on Droid 3.. blue tint.. same here...
any help greatly appreciated

Hello Verizon - Please add a discussion section for the Moto Droid 3. And when will the issue with the camera on the Droid 3 be fixed. The camera is useless with the flash. I was told that Motorola has to issue a software fix.
